A new year in the auto industry is upon us and Chrysler has a lineup of new vehicles in store, one being the 2011 edition of the Chrysler 300. You can expect to see massive improvements in terms of interior quality and fuel efficiency on this model (rumor has it 30 mpg). The base lines will likely stay on, with the addition of a new rear end and other style cues. See your Holland MI Chrysler dealer for more details.
The Chrysler 300C launch is currently scheduled for November 30, 2010 with a preview expected to take place in September. On the inside, expect much better materials, fit, and finish. The flat instrument cluster and straight, square dashboard have been replaced, with the new one having more contours and curves, with contrasting materials in both color and texture. Blind-spot detection is also in the works for all upper level Chrysler cars and multipurpose vehicles, along with other new-to-Chrysler safety features.
Along with the 2011 Chrysler 300, new versions of the Dodge Challenger, and 2011 Dodge Charger are expected to be shown in 2010. The Charger will have better aerodynamics, being less boxy, with improved noise levels and fuel economy. It will have more “retro cues” but will be recognizably modern. Its fuel-efficiency is also due to modified axle ratios and a Pentastar V6 engine — the 3.6 liter provides 290 hp with better mileage than the current 250 hp 3.5 liter.
The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is also on its way. As it does now, the lineup will begin with the Laredo trim and progress to Limited and then Overland, which makes its return after sitting out the 2010 model year. Like the current Grand Cherokee lineup, all 2011s will have a V-6 as their standard engine. However, the 2011’s will be the new 3.6-liter “Pentastar” V-6, which makes 280 hp and 260 lb-ft—gains of 70 hp and 25 lb-ft over the previous base motor. It will also include 17-inch wheels, a six-speaker stereo with CD player, satellite radio, and steering-wheel controls, two-row curtain airbags, keyless entry and starting, a tilting and telescoping steering wheel, and eight-way power adjust ability for the driver’s seat.
The Limited will include xenon headlights with Chrysler’s “Smartbeam” auto-dimming system, unique daytime running lights, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. At the top of the line are the Overland models, which adds navigation with Sirius Travel Link, a power hatch, Quadra-Lift air suspension, real wood trim, and ventilated front seats to the standard-equipment list.
