Jeeps are supposed to be fun, especially if you’re someone who likes to take those suckers off-road. That’s why so often you see a younger person behind the wheel of a Jeep Wrangler instead of a grizzled, grumpy old man. We’re looking at a truck that can do whatever it wants off-road and can drop its top, allowing the driver to bask in the summer sunlight. It’s not that they aren’t functional vehicles on an everyday basis, just that they really fill the niche of a truck o’ fun. Anyone who’s ever driven one knows this is the case, and every Holland used Jeep dealer has used that as a pitch to sell their stock of pre-owned Jeeps.
There are ways, however, to drive a Jeep in style, particularly by upgrading your purchase to the Unlimited trim, which has an extended body that allows it to feature four doors—the only vehicle on the market that offers such a thing with a convertible top. With the extra space comes extra seating to allow your friends and family to tag along on extended road trips over dirt roads, grass trails, rocky tracks or anything else you can imagine for a vehicle so perfectly tailored for cruising on non-traditional driving surfaces. In fact, more than one pundit has claimed that this particular vehicle is actually better off of asphalt than on it. If you’re looking for the perfect, most accommodating off-road vehicle there is, any Holland new car dealer would be crazy not to suggest that you give serious consideration to the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
Starting off at just a shade over $32,000, the Wrangler is admittedly not very cheap, but if you’re really planning on taking this through areas that require you drive a great off-road automobile, you don’t want to mess around with cheaper vehicles not equipped to handle the terrain. Also, mileage isn’t particularly great (it averages around 17 or 18 mpg and tops out at 19 on the highway), but you have to remember that this really is a pretty heavy truck, and you don’t mess around with slipping and sliding on rough roads. Plus, bigger trucks are more fun, and that’s kind of the whole point of owning a Jeep in the first place, right?
